Roger Baker is the author of Clara: An Ex-slave in Gold Rush Colorado.
For 10 years Roger was the Gilpin County Librarian (Central City, Colorado) and became fascinated with “Aunt” Clara Brown.  He has written several plays based on Clara Brown’s life on of which inspired the Central City Opera House Association to commission an opera about Clara Brown:  Gabriel’s Daughter.
